Dr. Zanariah Hussein is a Consultant Physician and Endocrinologist, currently the Head of Department of Internal Medicine, Hospital Putrajaya and Head of the Medical Endocrinology Unit, Endocrine Institute Hospital Putrajaya and Immediate Past Head of the Endocrinology Subspecialty Service of the Malaysian Ministry of Health (MOH). Her areas of clinical and research interest are lifestyle interventions in diabetes, diabetes and Ramadan, diabetes technology, pituitary disease, adrenal and neuroendocrine tumors. She chairs the Ministry of Health Endocrine Drug Subcommittee and been involved in the development committees of several local endocrine, diabetes and metabolic related clinical guidelines. She has been active in the Ministry of Health Endocrine Fellowship Training Program since it started in 2003. She chairs the Endocrinology Specialist Evaluation Subcommittee of the National Specialist Register. She is the Past President of the Malaysian Endocrine and Metabolic Society (MEMS) 2016 - 2020. She is a member of the advisory boards for the National Diabetes Institute (NADI) and Malaysian Diabetes Educator Society (MDES). She currently serves as an elected member of Malaysian Medical Council 2024 - 2027.
