Prof Manju Chandran is a Senior Consultant Endocrinologist and Director of the Osteoporosis and Bone Metabolism Unit at Singapore General Hospital, which she founded in 2007. She is also Clinical Professor at Duke-NUS Medical School and Chairperson of the Asia Pacific Consortium on Osteoporosis (APCO) leading bone health experts from 23 countries in the Asia Pacific. She spearheaded the development of the APCO Framework, the APCO Collective Intellect Clinical Case Discussion Platform (CICCDP), and multiple other educational tools to improve global osteoporosis care. She is the founder of WISHBONE, Singapore’s only osteoporosis support group, and leads multiple public education initiatives in Singapore.

Professor McCormack graduated in 2000 from the University of Sydney and undertook postgraduate training at the Royal North Shore Hospital. Her subsequent PhD examined the role of chemotherapy and genetic biomarkers in the management of aggressive pituitary tumours. In 2010 she completed a clinical and research fellowship in the Oxford Centre for Diabetes, Endocrinology and Metabolism, with a focus on pituitary tumours. She was then appointed to her current position as senior staff specialist in the Department of Endocrinology at St Vincent’s Hospital in 2011. She also heads The Hormones and Cancer Group at the Garvan Institute of Medical Research. Her primary research interests are in exploring the biology of aggressive pituitary tumours and investigating new treatment options, along with pituitary tumour genetics. As a member for the European Society of Endocrinology’s Taskforce on Aggressive Pituitary Tumours, she was integral to the development of guidelines on the management of aggressive pituitary tumours published in 2017. She is on the Board of the International Pituitary Society, heads the St Vincent’s Campus pituitary multidisciplinary team, is chair of the Sydney Pituitary Collaborative Group (SPCG) and co-chair of the Australia New Zealand Pituitary Alliance (ANZPA). After graduating from University of Edinburgh in 1973 and obtaining MRCP, he completed his endocrine experience as academic registrar and senior registrar in endocrinology in Aberdeen. He returned to Malaysia and was lucky to be able to continue and enhance his endocrinology while working with colleagues and junior colleagues in UHKL, UKM, USM and later in Penang Hopsital. Interest in clinical and research aspects of thyroid disease was sparked by Professor Donald Munro (of LATS-protector fame) and I was lucky to work with FRTL-5 cells in TSH Receptor antibody. In Penang he studied epidemiology of Thyroid Eye Disease. In 1999, he came to Penang as Foundation Professor of Medicine, and later Dean at the Penang Medical College (PMC) and helped to set up an Endocrine Clinic in Penang Hospital. After retiring as Dean and President of PMC in 2016 he became sessional Consultant Endocrinologist at the Gleneagles Penang. Dr. Norlela Sukor is a Professor of Medicine and Senior Consultant Endocrinologist at the Department of Medicine, Hospital Canselor Tuanku Muhriz, Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia Medical Centre (UKMMC), Kuala Lumpur. She is a highly accomplished academic and clinician, with numerous accolades to her name. Among her notable achievements are the University of Queensland Dean’s Award for Outstanding Research Higher Degree Thesis and the Postgraduate Student Academic Excellence Award (2009). She is also a Fellow of the American College of Endocrinology (ACE), becoming the first Malaysian woman to receive this prestigious distinction. She plays an active role in shaping national healthcare policy and was a member of the executive and task force committees for the 2015 and 2020 Malaysian Clinical Practice Guidelines on the Management of T2DM. Dr. Norlela has published extensively in high-impact, peer-reviewed journals, including publications in the New England Journal of Medicine, The Lancet, Journal of Clinical Endocrinology and Metabolism, Diabetes, Obesity and Metabolism, and Hypertension. Recently her paper entitled “The effect of vitamin D on the clinical and biochemical outcomes of primary aldosteronism” was awarded as the top cited article in Clinical Endocrinology. She currently serves as the Vice President of the ASEAN Network of Adrenal Hypertension (ANAH), further underscoring her regional leadership in the field of endocrinology.

Dr Tai pursued advanced sub-specialty training in orbit, oculoplastic and lacrimal surgery for both adult and children locally and at world-renowned institutions abroad. Dr Tan obtained his MBBS in University Malaya and his Master in Nuclear Medicine in Universiti Sains Malaysia. He currently works as clinical head of Nuclear Medicine in Sunway Medical Centre. Doctor Alexander Tan is Consultant Endocrinologist at Sunway Medical Centre. Doctor Tan graduated from the University of Liverpool in 2001, became a member of the Royal College of Physicians (MRCPUK) in 2005 and completed his subspecialty endocrinology training in 2010. He was elected to be a fellow of the Royal College of Physicians (FRCP) of Edinburgh in 2016. He was instrumental in the formation of the Diabetes Care Unit at University of Malaya Medical Centre, a one-stop centre for all diabetes related clinical services. He has presented research in the fields of diabetes mellitus and bone health at both local and international conferences. He has also been Principal Investigator for numerous clinical trials. Dr Muthukkumaran obtained his Masters in Clinical Oncology from University of Malaya in 2013. He previously served at Sabah Women and Children Hospital and currently based at Hospital Kuala Lumpur’s Department of Radiotherapy and Oncology. Dr Muthukkumaran has a special interest in pulmonary oncology, genitourinary oncology, neuro oncology (including stereotactic cranial radiosurgery) and paediatric radiation. Dr. Jeanne Wong Sze Lyn is a consultant paediatric endocrinologist at Sunway Medical Centre Damansara. Graduating with distinction from the University of Malaya in 2004, she obtained her pediatric specialist qualifications (MRCPCH UK) in 2009 and completed a sub-specialty fellowship in Pediatric Endocrinology in Malaysia and Sydney, Australia in 2016. With expertise in neonatal and childhood diseases, general pediatrics, vaccinations, and endocrine conditions (age 0-18 years), her focus includes diabetes, thyroid disorders, growth issues, puberty, bone health, calcium disorders, pituitary, adrenal, hypoglycemia, obesity, and sex development. Dr. Jeanne is passionate about children's health education.
She has contributed to various medical protocols and guidelines and is a monthly columnist for the Sunday Star newspaper's health column titled "Hormones and Kids." Her research publications cover topics including diabetes and thyroid disorders.
In addition to her clinical work, Dr. Jeanne is actively involved in professional organizations, as she served as the Paediatric Scientific Co-chairperson for the Annual Malaysian Endocrine & Metabolic Society (MEMS) Congress 2023 and holding roles in various committees related to pediatric endocrinology. Dr Wu Loo Ling is a senior consultant paediatrician and paediatric endocrinologist, currently practicing in Subang Jaya Medical Centre, Malaysia.
Dr. Wu was a former Professor of Paediatrics and Endocrinology in UKM Medical Centre for more than 20 years. She was instrumental in establishing the Paediatric Endocrine services both in UKM as well as in Malaysia. She initiated the formation of the young diabetic support group which has continued to run till today. Dr Wu has trained many specialists who are today paediatricians and paediatric endocrinologists in the country.
Dr Wu is a member of the Malaysian Endocrine and Metabolic Society, the Malaysian Paediatric Endocrine and Diabetes Group. She was a protem member in the setting up of the Asia Pacific Paediatric Endocrine Society (APPES) in 1999 and served in the council in the initial years. Dr Wu had chaired several expert committees in the development of Clinical Practice Guidelines in Malaysia.
Dr. Wu’s passion is in clinical work and teaching. She has special interest in children with type 1 diabetes mellitus, growth disorders and disorders of sex development.
