Prof. Dr Shelina is a Consultant Ophthalmologist with subspecialty expertise in Medical Retina and Uveitis. She currently serves as Professor and Consultant Ophthalmologist at the Faculty of Medicine and Hospital Al Sultan Abdullah, Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM), where she provides tertiary referral care and specialist outreach services nationwide. Her commitment to advancing subspecialty eye care is reflected in her key role in developing tertiary services at major national referral centres, including Hospital Selayang and Hospital Shah Alam.

Alongside her clinical practice, Prof. Dr Shelina has contributed to multiple international Phase 2 and Phase 3 clinical trials. Her academic interests include uveitis, ocular tuberculosis, diabetic retinopathy, retinal imaging biomarkers, and inflammatory eye diseases. She continues to shape the field through extensive publications, contributions to Malaysian Clinical Practice Guidelines, and regular invitations to speak at national and international ophthalmology meetings. She also remains actively involved in postgraduate training, supervising subspecialty fellows and Ophthalmology Masters students under national training programmes, reflecting her ongoing commitment to medical education.
